Using the site

EssayCheck.ai is free and does not require an account. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site.

Each tool has an hourly limit so the site stays available and affordable to run. Do not try to work around those limits, script the endpoints, or resell access to them. The API endpoints exist to serve this website and nothing else.

What the tools are, and are not

AI detection

The score is a probability, not a finding of fact. No detector, including this one, can prove how a piece of writing was produced. Scores differ between tools, and writing produced entirely by a person can score high, particularly if that person writes formally or in a second language.

A score from this site must not be used as evidence in an academic misconduct case, a disciplinary process, or any decision affecting somebody. If you are a teacher, treat a high score as a reason to have a conversation, never as a conclusion.

Grading

The grade is an estimate produced by a language model against a general rubric. It is not the grade your teacher will give, it does not know your course or your marker, and it is not a prediction of any result.

The writing check and the editor

Suggestions are exactly that. Some will be wrong, some will not suit your voice, and the decision on every one of them is yours. Readability scores and structural feedback are guidance, not rules.

The humanizer

This tool rewrites text to sound less uniform and less formal. It exists for writing that is yours but reads like a template, which is a real and common problem, especially for people writing in a second language.

It is not a way to make generated work pass as your own, and we do not present it as one. It does not reliably defeat AI detectors: in our own testing the score dropped by about forty points on average, but the result varied widely between runs and frequently still read as generated. It also sometimes introduces errors of its own. Anyone promising a guaranteed pass is describing something this tool does not do.

Your text

You keep every right you have in whatever you paste. We claim nothing over it and we do not store it. See the privacy policy for what happens to it during a request.

Only paste text you have the right to paste. Do not paste other people's confidential material, and do not paste personal information about someone else.

Academic honesty

These tools exist to help you understand and improve your own writing. Your school, college or university sets the rules about what assistance is permitted on your work, those rules vary widely, and they apply to this site as much as to anything else.

Using any tool here to present work that is not yours as your own is a matter between you and your institution. We cannot and do not police it, and we will not pretend that using a tool makes it acceptable.

Availability

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be available, accurate or free of faults. It depends on outside services that can fail, change or be withdrawn. Features may change or be removed, and limits may be adjusted.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site, including any academic, disciplinary or professional consequence connected to a score, a grade, a rewrite or a suggestion it produced.
